Uniform Policy

The correct uniform is an essential part of ballet training. It promotes discipline, equality, safety and allows teachers to clearly observe posture, alignment and technique. Adherence to the uniform policy is therefore expected at every class.

Uniform Requirements
-
All students must attend class wearing the correct uniform for their level and discipline, as outlined on the school’s official Uniform Page. This includes leotards, tights, footwear and any additional specified items.

-
Uniform standards apply to every class, including exam preparation sessions, rehearsals and mock exams.

Hair Requirements
-
All students with long hair must wear their hair in a secure ballet bun for class.
-
Hair must be neat, tidy and styled appropriately before the class begins.
-
Loose hair, ponytails or partially completed hairstyles are not acceptable unless prior approval has been given for exceptional circumstances.

Jewellery and Accessories
-
Jewellery and watches may not be worn during class, as they pose a safety risk and can interfere with training.
-
Exceptions may be made for personal or medical reasons, but these must be discussed with the teacher in advance where possible.

Monitoring and Compliance
-
Uniform and presentation will be actively monitored during class by teaching staff.

Failure to meet uniform requirements may:
-
Result in the student being asked to sit out of parts of the class where appropriate
-
Affect eligibility for examinations, mock exams or exam entry if standards are not consistently met

-
Consistent presentation is considered part of a student’s overall readiness for exams and performance.

Exams and Assessments
Please note:
-
Students must demonstrate consistent compliance with the uniform policy in order to be entered for examinations.
-
Repeated failure to meet uniform standards may result in a student not being entered for an exam, regardless of technical ability.

Affordability and Support
-
We are committed to keeping ballet accessible to all families.
-
The school offers a second-hand uniform scheme, providing good-quality uniform items at reduced cost.
